See it. Name it. Claim it.

On your own time.

A free self-guided session for expat women who are done waiting for the right moment.

The video runs about 32 minutes — but give yourself closer to one hour, because the real work happens in the pauses.

No live call, no fixed time zone. Just you, a quiet room, and the conversation you've been putting off having with yourself.

You built the life. Three countries, maybe more. Schools sorted, homes made, everyone settled — often alone, often without anyone asking how you were doing while you did it.

And somewhere in all that competence, a question quietly stopped getting asked. Not by anyone else. By you. What do I actually need right now?

You're still functioning. You're still the one who holds it together. But the version of you who had her own direction has gone a little quiet — and you're starting to notice the silence.

Maybe you meant to join a live call and the time zone never worked. Maybe you almost signed up and then wondered whether it was really for you. It is. This is the same session, waiting for whenever you're ready to sit down with it.

Here's what I've learned, living this and then spending years alongside women who are living it too. What keeps you stuck isn't a lack of information. It's a lack of permission.

Permission to want more without calling yourself ungrateful. Permission to admit that a life that looks enviable from the outside doesn't always feel that way on the inside. Both things can be true at once — the gratitude and the wanting. You don't have to choose.

The session doesn't hand you a plan for your life. It gives you an hour to hear yourself think — and one concrete step that's actually yours.

We do three things together: see it, name it, claim it.

See it. We look at the patterns most expat women carry and rarely name out loud — the full calendar, the invisible mental load, the slow way your own needs slid to the bottom of the list. You'll find one word for where you actually are right now. Not where you think you should be.

Name it. We look at the three quiet reasons women silence what they want — the gratitude trap, the belief that wanting something for yourself betrays your family, and the plain risk of admitting a desire you might then have to act on. You'll write down one thing you've been telling yourself you don't need. And you'll say it out loud, because that's what makes it real.

Claim it. This is where awareness becomes a step. You'll get clear on what you actually need — from your partner, your employer, your community, yourself — and you'll leave with one concrete ask you can make this week, with a date attached. You'll also work through an exercise from Heike's spouse package materials on naming your needs clearly enough to ask for them.

This is for you if you've been carrying something quietly and you're ready to stop pretending it isn't there. If the question "What do you do?" has started to feel harder to answer than it used to. If you don't need pumping up — you need honesty, and a bit of space to think.

It's not for you if you're looking for someone to hand you a five-step fix. This is reflection that leads to a step, not a shortcut around the reflection.

FAQ

  • No. This stands entirely on its own, whether you missed the live one or are meeting this work for the first time.

  • The video is about 32 minutes. But set aside closer to an hour of undisturbed time — you'll want to pause, write, and sit with a few questions before moving on. That's not padding; the pauses are where the work happens. You can stop and come back whenever you need to.

  • A quiet spot, something to write with, and an hour that belongs only to you. That last one is often the hardest to find — which tells you something.

  • Yes. Your name and email, and it's yours.

The clarity you felt once was real. What it needed wasn't more insight — it was somewhere to land, and a bit of time that belonged only to you.

This is that time. Whenever you're ready for it.
